Eeyew! Look What The Boys Found

It lived happily here for a couple of days, I guess.
Michael, Andrew, and Conor were aware of it,
but nobody looked closely until Andrew called our attention to it last night . . .

Yuk! We have a lot of spiders, and that has not bothered me, but I've never seen this variety, and it's not a welcome housemate!

Best Seats in the House

They are watching a Go, Diego, Go video, and they both found a way to wiggle while they watch. (Gabrian was pedaling so intently that Michael didn't realize it was a video and thought it was the dumbest game he'd ever seen.)

Yep, ANOTHER Party

Basketball Star & Cheerleader

Gabrian and Cameron got to enjoy Ari's present first.

Here's Gabrian doing his best to keep her away from it when she came upstairs. . .

A few more presents for Conor; we had relatives come only once instead of moving in for the month of October or breaking the bank on gas purchases! For Conor, it's the birthday that never ends. He doesn't mind. :)

A birthday boy is 3!

Ari "patiently" waits while Gabrian opens presents.

Finally her turn! First experieince with gift-opening in America.

The girls hang around to see what Ari got, but the boys have long since lost interest and disappeared.

I just stole this picture off Aunt Bre's blog. There are great party pictures on our cousin's blog, and they got this great one of Ari with her cake.

Ari whips up something delicious in her kitchen,

and Gabrian tries out his new cycling game.

Cameron likes everyone's presents.

I Don't Know What Is Wrong With Them

Outside the window, the sun is just rising.
And they're already dressed and . . . happy.
I don't get it.

FINALLY, The Birthday Party

And Conor is NINE!
Ben 10 birthday fun inside . . .
and a beautiful day outside. What to do?
Whether hitting the play set,
or heading off on the property,
they demonstrate that it would be a waste of time to plan structured activities!

All these friends around, and Conor still goes slow and takes care of his little sister.
Cameron and friend Makenna are oblivious to the fact that there's a birthday party going on.
A few gifts (basketball immediately confiscated by Gabrian),

a pinata,

a cake,

and some bad singing, and we'll call it a day!

So Hard To Wait for an Afternoon Party

Ari sings, "Happy Birthday, Nonor." Sort of.

Michael's Department Fall Celebration

Cameron gets into bobbing for apples.
Andrew prevents Gabrian from drowning.
Determination . . . Success!
It took him a while.
A pile of straw conceals prizes . . .
And the staw flies!

Inside, it was very dark, and I got dark, blurry pictures or white-out faces. Oh well.

Who Knows What They're Doing?

But I sure love 'em, and I thought they were being cute.

Blog Tag

Lynn (and Olivia) tagged us a few days ago. It's taken me awhile to find time to pass it on. Visit Lynn and her family at http://arnett9.blogspot.com/

7 random facts about me? There's nothing interesting about me that readers of this blog, i.e. my family, don't already know:

1. I grew up in a log cabin without power, phone, running water, or indoor plumbing.

2. Before I worked for a speech therapist, I wanted to be a biochemist/geneticist. My brother is getting his doctorate and is a biochemist instead of me! :)

3. I can't stand the sound of markers, styrofoam, or chalk.

4. Similarly, I can't stand to touch velvet or foam rubber.

5. Though no one who knows me or works with me would consider me shy, I am terrified of meeting new people, and each new evaluation I do when I meet new patients is a personal challenge for me. (The second visit is always much better.)

6. I love taking tests, always have, still do.

7. I hope to have the guts someday to teach a class for continuing ed or for the university.

Now, I'd like to tag the following blogs:

He Cracks Me Up

He busts up every time he holds the hamster.
It's impossible not to laugh with him.
(Reaper is not visible because he's crawling up Conor's back here.)
You should have heard him when I lifted his shirt so Reaper could go inside.
Definitely a good birthday gift!

(And in response to questions, yes, she is wearing her BAHA. I made her a band out of black elastic that blends well with her hair so we can dress her BAHA up or down.)

Special Blankie

She hated blankets when we first met and when she first came home.
Now, she has adapted to the Norton house, and just like her brothers, is infatuated with her "special blankie."
