Hungry Hummingbirds

This time of year, the hummingbirds are plentiful and thirsty, so if you hold still, you can get them to land on you (and Top Gun all around your head).

Little Lunch

The kids think it's cool when I cut lunch up into bite-size pieces and serve them with cocktail forks. (What other use do I have for cocktail forks?!)

The beautiful bouquet, by the way, was a goodbye from a precious patient who can no longer see me because insurance doesn't pay past age 7, even if you are on the autism spectrum. Grrr.

Water Park

Michael took some of the boys to a water park while Ari and I went to Denise's bridal shower.
It was an awesome park: affordable, fun, and strangely, even on a Saturday . . . no lines!

Apparently, the wave pool was a big hit with all the kids, but Michael says Cameron took at least 5 years off of his life (Michael's). He had to get in the big waves, where he couldn't touch, and dogpaddle for his life.

Camping At Home

It doesn't look like we're going to get a chance for camping this summer, so we just brought some of the fun home. We've got a good swimming hole and fire pit. The bathroom facilities are better here too.

The Swimming Hole

Here is what the snorkels Nana brought from Hawaii are good for!

As independent as he can be.
Not to be outdone by Gabrian, Ariana abandoned her boat . . . for good.
Now, she's swimming all over the pool by herself too.
Jumping!

Another Yummy Outing

Off to Green Bluff again to see what's ripening.
A whole herd of kids running to the orchard.

Look at those cherries! I think the Garden of Eden might have looked something like this. :)

Didn't take Ariana long to get grimy. Exactly one cherry, in fact!

I like this picture - you can see the Bing cherries and Ranier cherries to choose from. (We got both.)
Mom was appointed water mule.
Dad was appointed Ari mule.
And I will eat these single-handedly.

Me too!
No, they don't weigh the kids on the way in or out.

After cherries, it was off to pick raspberries.
Picking,
Picking,
Picking, . . .
. . . Devouring.

Then, for some ice cream after all the hot work.
This is a $.99 small at The Ram by our house.
We have never tried a large.
Looks like Andrew wants to get in on his sister's ice cream.
(Yes, he had already finished his own.)
Mmmmm. . .
Brain freeeze!
