Yep, It Always Does

They found toy soldiers.
But what begins as quiet, cooperative play always degenerates into something like this.
Why is that?

Wehrlie Family Reunion

The same day that we drove and picked up Wynn, Cameron, and Conor from Bible Camp, we headed the opposite direction and drove all day to Salem, OR for a family reunion.  Whew!  Long drive.  It reinforced that we'll be stopping for a reprieve in Portland when we head for the Oregon Coast in August!  It was a good opportunity for Wynn to meet some extended family.

What it takes Michael to get through a family reunion.  :)

Wynn got to meet a lot of people whom she has only known on Facebook,
but, of course, the favorite was little cousin Shayna Rose.
Ariana was very happy with Shayna Rose, too.
(Here, with her mom, my cousin, Dar.)
"Somebody" taught Wynn how to have fun with Mandy in the port-a-potty.
Not sure she liked it when Mandy repaid the favor.

Splish, Splash . . . Finally

I've been tending this pool since mid-May, so that here, July 1, it could be used.
At least by those whose nerve endings don't connect to any cognitive centers.

Hoopfest 2012

I had to come back and update this blog post with the best picture of all!
We will have to use this picture (along with the one of him as an infant, sleeping, clutching a basketball) when it's his own Senior Night/last game playing for Gonzaga. LOL.
I can't find the one of him sleeping with his basketball right now - I know it's on this blog somewhere.  I'll content myself with remembering this.

For Gabrian and Wynn, we followed Michael downtown to Hoopfest.  The crowds and courts are indeed impressive.
Sigh.  It's the only picture I got with all faces visible.  (Andrew and Mandy are in Clarkia visiting Nana and friends.)
The kids were mainly bored (and whining for overpriced concessions, but their smart mom made them all eat sandwiches before leaving home).  I thought Wynn might enjoy the crowds and activity, but not so much.   Oh well, I enjoyed being out in nice weather.
A little reprieve from the boredom while abusing kiddie toys on the micro playground.
Gabrian, however, was in his element.  He's trying to recruit a team here, I think.
I had pictures of Gabrian, watching, enthralled, while his Dad played.  Wynn had my phone last night to call her China Mom, and this morning, none of those pictures are there (I am certain any deletions were entirely accidental - she wasn't even in them.  lol)
Day 2, Gabrian was the only one who wanted to go back,
and it looks like he's still trying to recruit team members.
