Some Of The Cute Things That Live With Me

Just not a baby anymore!
Neither of them!
9 months ago today:
How could they all three change so much, so fast?!
(Of course, I haven't changed at all, in years . . .)

Some Kittens Picked Out Lora At Kountry Critters

The grey one is Rumor, and the black one is Whisper. They are 8 weeks old and were bottle-fed (super friendly).
Mom, we have the guest bed covered with the plastic sheet so no "cat residue" gets on it, and we are introducing the kittens in small doses to Blacktop so they can be in the Wreck Room. :)

Owls Are Birds Of Prey!

I went out to investigate a significant "thump" on our window and found this little guy stunned on the deck. He's a pygmy owl, probably not as tall as the length of my hand.

Only problem -- he was lying face down, and I saw his grey speckled back and wings and thought common flicker. I picked him up to see how injured he was -- and he sunk his talons into my thumb. They are sharp, strong, and very curved --they go deep, and they're hard to pull out. I have no questions about how they catch their prey!

Gabrian and Ari's School Pictures

Three poses of each, and I'm not thrilled with any of them (tho a couple are kinda cute).

Ariana, 2 years
(The day after her 2nd bday)
and Gabrian, 3 years
(Well, 14 days before his birthday.)

All of those, and I like these better:

Tried a little color correction. I thought it was just that they were over-saturated, but I finally noted - Gabrian was wearing an olive green sweatshirt, not brown. . .

Third Grade

He was so pleased when I said, "Eeyew" about the snake.
He wanted the snake shirt, and I wanted the plaid buttoned . . .

Voh Dow!

Ari "voh dow" (fall down) and only wanted hugs from Gabrian.

Costumes 2008

Andrew was off toodling in the pep band, so he was finally forced to give up trick-or-treating and just raid his siblings' loot.

A were-Conor.

Gabrian chose - you're gonna be amazed -
a basketball player!

He enjoyed trick-or-treating until his pumpkin got too heavy to carry. The first time someone opened the door, he headed right inside and down their stairs. Pretty funny!

The costume I planned for Ari turned out to be way too big, so she went as herself: bows and horns!

These horns were Conor's when he was a baby. The needed some re-stitching but worked just fine. A couple people did comment, "Oh, you are not a devil," or something along those lines when we were out trick-or-treating.

With her sweet-tooth, she caught on very quickly and starting yelling, "Me! Me!" as we approached each house.

Pumpkin Carving

(Cameron was actually grounded & in bed early on the night we did these. He got to do his this morning.)

We only have 1 candle . . . so only one jack-o-lantern can be lit at a time ("lit" by flameless candle no less). Will post pictures of the finished products after we buy candles today! Here's a preview:

What a Bunch of Bookworms!

Using Stools For Evil

Pretty pleased with herself.
