Science Fair, 2nd & 3rd Grade

2nd Grade Spring Concert

He took this concert very seriously & is very proud of it. He picked his clothes, saying, "I want to look nice. I don't want to just wear random clothes that don't match." I didn't even know he knew that concept.

Riverfront Park

We tried a trip to Riverfront Park with fingers crossed for decent weather. We not only managed to complete the outing between rainclouds, but we got some sunshine! (The next morning, it was 38 degrees again, so we sure appreciate warm time outside.)

The park is so pretty when it starts getting green.
And the water is impressive as winter runs off.

There's a wagon even bigger than ours. We might need to get one like this so they can all sleep in it!
Ari was a little apprehensive the first time down (but not the following 10 times).

We tried to feed the ducks with all the bread that was left over from Swallows Park. Once again, the birds weren't interested.
Ari didn't want to share her bread anyway!
She was eating it the whole day.
The ducks and geese weren't hungry, but the marmots were good sports.

Then off to one last playground. Gabrian decided he was done swinging and climbed off the swing in the middle of an arc. Andrew was pushing him, so he was going pretty high. He landed hard, one arm twisted backwards and his head hitting the ground with an audible crack. It was a heart stopper for a moment. After just a few minutes, he went back to the swing. No damage done.
Wow. What a crew.

Cutest Preschoolers In The World As Of 4/21/09

Swallows Park

Previewing spring at the Lewiston levy and Swallows Park in Clarkston.

We had some "backpack" (Ari's term for riding on a big person),
some riding in the wagon

some riding on the bikes,
some playing on the playground,
some balance practice with Mom and Dad,
some rolling down a big hill,
some teasing Andrew,
some laughing with Auntie,
and some general running amok.
We threw some bread for the geese, but there weren't many around.
(Look how much they have grown since last year's trip to Swallows Park.)
Not many geese, but at least the ones around had babies.

The little ones got pretty tired.

The "sleeping in the wagon" shot is getting to be pretty standard for our outings!

Photo Shoot

We went to Lewiston to take engagement picture of my sister, Denise, & her fiance, Uncle Eric.

We got some really nice pictures, but . . .

. . . some of the people in the park felt free to interrupt at will.

Excitement!!!

Lightening hit a tree right here in our yard.
The tree is scarred from top to bottom.

The kids were playing in the yard at the time . . .
Yikes!
Conor describes fire, orange and blue.
Andrew was in the house, upstairs where windows were available. He said everything flashed blue.
Michael was downstairs in the basement. He said it was very, very loud - shook the windows & knocked things off shelves.
And I (sigh) was on my way home from work & missed the whole thing.
