Pretty As A Flower

(Pictures copyright Judith Stein)
Some time ago, I came across the beautiful work of Judith Stein in a benefit auction for Chinese orphanages. Browsing the artist's site, I found (and bought a print of) this picture of a little girl on the beach who bears a striking resemblance to Ari.
Later, I e-mailed a picture of Ari to the artist with a note about how she unknowingly painted my little girl. Her response was to ask permission to paint Ari. Tonight, I got an e-mail from her that Ariana's portrait is done. It is beautiful!

The painting is described by the artist: "Pretty as a Flower" is an original 11 x 15" watercolor featuring a tiny Chinese toddler sharing the smell and sight of her blossom. Ariana shows off her latest find -- a pretty pink flower. Decked out in her milky white hat, the little lass demonstrates to her adopted family a secure hold on first place in the "pretty as a flower" category. (Ebay item 310073638116)
