I put Morrigan's (the hamster's) cage inside a big birdcage for extra predator protection. What predators?

so will he live in Conor's room???
Maybe after it cools down or Conor gets air conditioning. From what I read, hamsters can tolerate the cold if the change is gradual, but not the heat.
