Spokane Fair 2013

We started off parking in the back 40 since we got there early, and they had to fill the far corners of the parking lots before it got clogged up by the entrance.  At this time in the morning, it was cold.  I was regretting my choice of Birkis and wondering if our jackets would be adequate.  It turned out to be a beautiful day (all jackets shed) full of food, family, and fun.  We began with me and Michael with the 5 youngest kids (and our good young friend, Troy).  Later, Denise, Eric, and Ben joined us for Ben's first annual fair.  And after that, even Andrew and Mandy joined us for a little while!  This is the 25th consecutive year that Michael and I have gone to the fair together.  We're actually thinking that as the kids are all getting older and wanting to do their own things, we might have to make it two days next year.  We didn't have time to see half the stuff we usually enjoy.  The kids had a blast, though, and we all indulged in fair food, a highlight of my year!  Denise said, "I see you branched out and went with a gyro this year."  lol.  Yes, ALWAYS a gyro, but sometimes not only a gyro.  For example, this year, I purchased the family's first funnel cake.
First funnel cake.  Yum.  Hope it won't be the last.
Ari, with her two forks, hopes there will be another as well.

The group hug kept growing, and Wynn kept smiling.

All of the Norton kids stayed awake until they end, but we still lost little Ben to exhaustion.  (I was wishing we had the red wagon, but the era of kids sleeping in the red wagon at the fair seems to have passed.  So quickly!)
